What age group are your books written for?
My books are written for readers aged 8–12 (middle grade). They’re designed to capture children’s imagination through adventure while weaving in authentic history, culture, and moral lessons.
Are your books suitable for schools and classrooms?
Yes! They are written to be both exciting and educational. Each story is rooted in accurate historical research and highlights values such as courage, honesty, and perseverance.
Do readers need to start with Book One, or can they begin anywhere in the series?
Each book has its own complete adventure, so readers can enjoy them individually. But the siblings grow and change over time, so reading in order adds depth to their journey.
How much of your books are based on real history?
The settings, historical figures, and cultural details are all carefully researched from reliable sources. The four siblings are fictional, but they interact with real historical personalities and events, giving readers a vivid and authentic experience.
What inspired you to write this series?
The inspiration came from my love for history, storytelling, and wanting children to connect with the lives of remarkable figures of the past. I also wanted to create a series that Muslim children, and all children, could enjoy while learning about values and heritage.
Will the series be translated into other languages?
Yes. The books will be translated into Arabic, and I hope to make them available in other languages too, so children around the world can enjoy the adventures.
Do you visit the places you write about?
Where possible, yes. My research includes visits to historical sites, studying with teachers and scholars, and gathering details from local culture. This helps me bring the sights, sounds, and textures of each setting to life on the page.
How many books will there be in the series?
The series is planned as ten books, each focusing on a different historical figure and theme. Readers will travel from England to Yemen, Jerusalem, Iraq and across the wider Muslim world, alongside the siblings.
Are the books only for Muslim readers?
Not at all. While the stories draw from Islamic history and values, they are universal tales of family, bravery, and discovery. Any child who loves adventure and history will enjoy them.
Where can I buy your books?
You can find my books directly through my publisher, Ihya Publishing, on major online retailers, and (soon) in selected bookstores. Check the Books page for links and updates.
Do you offer school visits or workshops?
Yes, I love meeting young readers! I offer author visits (both in-person and online) where I share behind-the-scenes research, read from the books, and run creative writing or history-inspired workshops. Teachers can reach out through my Contact page for details.
How do you make sure the books are accurate to history?
I spent years researching before writing, working with scholars, teachers, and authentic historical sources. I also travel to many of the places featured in the books, which allows me to capture real details about architecture, clothing, food, and daily life.
How can parents and teachers support their children while reading the series?
Each book is designed to spark curiosity. Parents and teachers can encourage children to ask questions, look up places on a map, or even try simple activities connected to the story (like baking bread or sketching a historical landmark). It’s a way of bringing the adventure into real life.
Do the siblings in the story reflect your own family?
The Hadi siblings are fictional, but they are inspired by real children, by the curiosity, humor, and courage I see in my own family and the children around me. Readers often recognize a bit of themselves in one of the siblings!
Will there be resources to go alongside the books?
Yes. I’m creating teaching resources, activity packs, and discussion guides to accompany the series. These will be available on the website so parents, teachers, and book clubs can deepen the reading experience.
